Equip young people with the knowledge, tools, and courage to save lives.
Founded in San Francisco, Rescue Ready is a peer-to-peer movement focused on overdose recognition and Narcan training. We make prevention education accessible, relatable, and ready for action.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple but urgent: equip young people with the knowledge, tools, and courage to save lives. Rescue Ready is committed to making overdose prevention education accessible, relatable, and stigma‑free.
What we do
We focus on training peers to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and to use Narcan — the life‑saving medication that can reverse an overdose in minutes.
Hands-on workshops
Interactive sessions that teach recognition, response steps, and confident Narcan administration.
Peers teaching peersPartner-powered
We collaborate with End Overdose, HOPe, and Song for Charlie to ensure our materials are accurate and current.
Evidence-basedSupply linkage
We connect students with free Narcan kits and practical guidance for carrying and storing them.
Ready to actWhy it matters
Growing up in San Francisco, we’ve seen how the opioid crisis affects families, classmates, and neighbors. By giving people the skills and confidence to act, Rescue Ready helps turn bystanders into first responders.
Narcan Training: what you’ll learn
Our standard workshop covers overdose risk factors, recognition, calling for help, administering Narcan (spray), and post‑reversal care.
Recognize
Identify opioid overdose signs quickly and accurately.
Respond
Call emergency services, give rescue breaths if trained, and administer Narcan.
Recover
Monitor, place in recovery position, and stay with the person until help arrives.
